Klamath Humane Society

January 20th, 2010

Thank you to Cascade Subaru for the donation of $100.00 to the Klamath Humane Society for every new Subaru sold.  Their nationwide “Share the Love” campaign benefits a variety of worthy national charities, but Cascade Subaru chose to shine a spotlight on the needs of local non-profits by adding an additional donation for our new animal shelter.   Please help us thank Cascade and other local business that go out of their way to insure that donations stay in our community.

Go Orange For Animals Day!

(Orange is the official color for animal abuse.)

The Klamath Humane Society and Klamath CAP (Child Abuse Prevention) joined forces to bring awareness to the public about the correlation between animal abuse and child abuse.  We invited you and your pets to enjoy a playful day at VETERANS PARK (courtesy of the Klamath Dog Fanciers) with Games, Prizes, Kid's Area, Meet the Breeds, K9 Unit, Angels In Whiskers (certified therapy dogs), and more...

Going Orange is a celebration of compassion for all living things and a FUN way to "PROMOTE KINDNESS & PREVENT CRUELTY TO ANIMALS."

First Annual Fur Ball, May 1st, 2009 was a HUGE success!!!  Thank You everyone who attended!!!

The First Annual Fur Ball was an outstanding success, thanks in large part to your support.   Your donation helped ensure our first event was a home run.  On behalf of the Klamath Humane Society, thank you for your generous support of the 2009 Fur Ball.

The First Annual Fur Ball generated over $20,000 in profit, which will be used to aid in the completion of the new shelter on Washburn Way.  However, while the financial gain is considerable, it is only a part of the overall benefits created by this event.  The Fur Ball also increased community awareness of the need to complete the new shelter and drove additional traffic to us via the website and current shelter.  This amplified awareness resulted in additional adoptions of pets, receipt of more donations unrelated to the event and both individuals and businesses approaching us with additional fund raising ideas and offers!

Exceeding our highest expectations in terms of ticket sales, the event was a complete sell-out.  This allowed more than 350 people in attendance to hear our story and hopefully, share it with their friends.  Many of the attendees approached us during or after the event to offer suggestions to make it even more profitable next year or to ask how they could be a part of the planning team for 2010.  All in all, we anticipate an even more exceptional event in 2010 and hope you will again be an integral part of its success.

On behalf of the Klamath Humane Society and the pets of Klamath County, thank you for your generous support of the 2009 Fur Ball.  We could not have done it without you!
