Spay Neuter
Incentive Project is a campaign to reduce the overpopulation
of pets in Klamath County by stopping unwanted births through spay/neuter.
This program was launched in 2004.
Since implementation we have spayed or neutered 1,036 pets.
With the aid of grants the SNIP program paid $22,229.70
Klamath Humane Society paid $10,112.70.
Total pet owners only paid $ 12,074.00.
We continue to write grants to further this program. We feel this program is successful in helping those who can't afford the total cost of spay or neuter for their pets.
Goals:
1.
A low cost spay/neuter program making spay/neuter possible for
every pet guardian.
2. Education
on the importance of spay/neuter to stop pet overpopulation.
3. Gain community support for SNIP so the program has continued
funding.
